Junior Year- Who Wouldn't Want to be Me?

Junior year will rock. Do any of you remember your junior year of High School?

From the teachers, students to the clubs, junior year will be stellar for me. I will be the Buddy Director for Best Buddies this year and I am ready to speak up during meetings this year and a few days ago, when we had our first officer meeting; I definitely spoke up a lot and gave tons of input! According to my family, my speech is more clear then it was last year.

Junior year will hold more opportunities for me to be on Firebird Word, Chaparral's school announcements for Best Buddies and Lookout Club!

I can’t wait to continue my friendships with Blake Sykes, Taylor Taft, Hannah Hulst and now for the mainstream friends, officer Tyler Waller and more. Best Buddies will rock this year, thanks to our advisors, officer corps, members and program manager. The officer training in September 2011 will rock and I am ready to inspire everyone with a speech, if they do that again. I am aiming to try to give my speech without help. I know I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!

I have got this plan to visit a few of my teachers I had sophomore year and take a few of my friends, including Blake Sykes to meet them.

I am ready to sing my heart out at Best Buddies meetings this year, and I will be the karaoke queen (KQ) of 2011-12 school year! The 1st picture is me singing at one of our meetings last year, which is where I was warming me voice up for the karaoke that happened at the conference.

I cannot wait one bit to see being an ambassador holds for me in terms of speaking engagements and the board in general. The ambassadors will rock and roll this year! Chaparral has two ambassadors, Matt Bloomfield and Lindsey Eaton, but our Buddy Director for a few years ago is an ambasssador. He is Taylor Ray.

I am predicting our sports teams will win State Championships and make us proud Firebirds!!!!

Best Buddies Arizona!

Presenters Julia Banahan, Lindsey Eaton and Lead Program Manager, Tim Lhotka

Best Buddies Arizona promotes opportunities for friendships and leadership with integrated employment for students and adults with disabilities. The group is led by Maggie Speer.

There are other staff members at the state office and they are Tim Bolen, Tim Lhotka and McKenzie Rosser. Fran Parker is also a staff member. Tim and Maggie are in charge of the Buddy Ambassador program. The ambassadors are students with disabilities, who are paired with a speech coach, a person without a disability. Julia Banahan, Dakota Johns, Drew Dysko and Greg Devorce are a few of the recent graduates from the ambassador board.

The program managers oversee chapters such as Higley HS, J.O Combs HS, ASU, Desert Ridge and Mountain Ridge HS. Obviously, Chaparral and many more chapters.

Arizona's fundraiser is the Spirit of Friendship, which is prom themed this year. The ambassadors and staff members were photographed for it this past June. Drew Dysko (Hamilton) and Lindsey Eaton (Chaparral), got a cute picture together. Drew was sitting on my lap and he was super cute.

Every March, Best Buddies has a Best Buddies Month Celebration where they honor outstanding chapters, leaders and buddy pairs. This quote was from the 2010-11 Best Buddies Month, I am so excited about the award ceremony and recognizing all of our outstanding chapters in Arizona!” says McKenzie Rosser, Program Manager. She continues, “it is just so rewarding to see the Buddy Pairs celebrating together.”

LC 2011: Reflections

As a student leader and ambassador for Best Buddies Arizona, i can tell you that the Leadership Conference changed my life. I met many new friends including a few from Virginia. Best Buddies Virginia is friends with me on Facebook. I am actually friends with some of the Chapter President's I met such as Ashley Apodoca. I miss my friends James, Ashley and Shelby and I also miss from friend, Brian and the girls I met from Virginia. The girls were really nice to me and I met a staff member from Virginia and they asked me if Maggie is our Program Manager. I said Maggie is the Program Supervisor.

I was able to meet Anthony Shriver, Nicole Raine and Melissa Wong. I shook hands with Meliss and Nicole. They were very awesome.

I really miss my speech coach, Hannah Leary. Hannah was a fun blast to work with and we got to know each other a lot. She came with me into the bookstore to buy an IU shirt on the last day of ambassador trainings. I texted Hannah this morning. Hannah asked me if I was coming back for LC 2012 as she is. I miss you a lot, Hannah!

On the night of the oscars, I heard some of our student leaders say to McKenzie "Don't get us lost, McKenzie" and I asked her what they were talking about. She said she got them lost during LC 2010.

More Facebook News:
I have become friends with Brendan Lemieux from the Kandoo Band. I posted on his wall

Brendan Lemieux

You guys rocked the house on Friday! You amazed me and I loved the songs you sang. I brought your song "Take the Diss Out" before LC 2011. It is a great song!

My new nickname is Karaoke Queen and Tim Bolen gave it to me. I feel like I have quite the voice and am ready to sing more at chapter meetings. Watch out Chaparral.

Student Leader advice from a current Ambassador (I am not encouraging this) but you should branch out and with a different state at night one night, which I how I met the girls from Virginia.

LC 2011: What's new

Logo: Best Buddies International

LC 2011 is 8 days away. I can hardly wait too see Emma Kitnick, Charles Calhoun, Rick Shugroue and Whitney Brodersen at the airport. I am also excited to meet Anthony Kennedy Shriver, who signed my ambasador graduation diploma from Best Buddies Arizona.

The flight leaves at 8:55am. It turns out that I am going to pre-board our flight early as I have special needs and my mom checked the option on Wednesday night. I get very overwhelmed by lines. We are flying US Airways. Family and friends, I ask that you pray that our travels are smooth to Indiana on the 22nd of this month. I am sure it will be but I would still like it if you prayed, as it is a 3 1/2 hour flight.

I am sure McNutt Quad will be a nice dormitory to live in for four nights. There will no late nights (past 11:00) as the BB staff will do dorm checks to make sure everyone is in bed.

What is the opposite of nervous? It is excited. I am super excited as I feel like everyone from BBAZ and BBI will be very welcoming, even the other student leaders from many other chapters. Plus, I know Emma really good and all the ambassadors. The party don't start till AZ arrives!!!! I can't wait to make many new friends and continue my friendships that've been going on.

They are going to show a movie called "Shooting Beauty" at the LC. It is about photographers who have disabilities. You can't rent the video from Blockbuster, but you can buy it online, when I send you the link.
http://www.everyonedeservesashot.com/

Keep your eyes on changing the world one friendship at a time. What will your role in The Big Picture be? Please watch the conference live online. It streams live at bestbuddies.tv

I will definitely look for the banner for Dick Van Arsdale in the gym. Plenty of pictures will be taken.

The R-Word in Hawaii

Yesterday at the airport in Maui, I heard someone say the r-word when they were using their phone to look something up and it offended me. Oh how that word offends students and adults with disabilities.

I felt like saying "I feel so offended since you used the r-word. Have you heard about Spread the Word to End the Word?", but time went too fast and it was time to get on the plane.

Please continue to not use the r-word around my friends and I as it offends us. If you haven't made the pledge to end the r-word please do so by going to www.r-word.org and click on pledge and be heard.

Best Buddies and Special Olympics participants and supporters appreciate your pledges and support to ban the r-word.

Thank you
Lindsey Eaton

The countdown has begun for Indiana!!! 30 more days. I am getting so excited to be reunited with Emma Kitnick. I also get to see my friends Charles Calhoun, Rick Shugroue and Whitney Brodersen, but I also can't wait to make more friends.

I plan to look for the representative from Corona Del Mar High School in California.

One of the details on the parent packet for LC reads
All attendees must be in bed before 11:00.
Best Buddies staff will be doing checks to make sure everyone is in bed and in their dorm.

Program staff members
Tim Lhotka, Maggie Speer, McKenzie Rosser, Tim Bolen and Deona Cole will be in Indiana.

There will be a dance party one night while we are in Indiana. It's going to be such fun to bring my moves to the dance floor.

As for communication, I will not have a laptop with me, but I will have my cell phone with me. I will call home when necessary or if needed so I don't get homesick. If I don't call, don't worry; it will mean I am the best time and making new friends from all over the world.

Summer 2011

Summer 2011 has been great so far....I have enjoyed all my trips I gone on. Pinetop and Newport Beach, CA are the two destinations I've been too. I am getting excited for Hawaii and Indiana.

It's been quite fun staying connected with current and former Chaparral students such as Shari Hilton and Jenn Greer and current students, Ryan Bond and Gianna Canivez

Trevor Wood and Andrew Croft, friends of my cousin Travis had siblings graduate this year so they received graduation posts from me. Trevor said he hopes he sees me soon!! (:

I have also taken time to thank Cameo Studios for their work they put into photography-related tasks for our yearbook this year and they liked my Wall Post.

I will post pictures of my summer travels on Facebook and share some via email. This coming week- I am going to hang out with Elaine Helton, my Best Buddy. I am also going to hang out with Emily Eaton one day. Pictures will be taken that day

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Eaton= a Background of Photography

1. Year of Photo 1
I completed a year of Photo 1 and learned from an expert in the field of Photography.....Mrs. Lineberger. She taught her Photo 1 class about the experts of Photography such as Richard Avedon.

She is why I am not shy in front of the camera anymore! Thank you, Mrs. Lineberger! What would I do without you at Chaparral? Nothing....You helped me grow my love for Photography.

2. 1 year of Yearbook
Despite of going in and out of yearbook, I took the skills I learned from Photo 1 into Yearbook.

3. Learned from experts
I learned from our photography teacher, her Photo II photographers and best of all Best Buddies Arizona program supervisor, Maggie Speer. I saw Maggie photograph Best Buddies at the Best Buddies AZ Homecoming Makeover.

4. Best Buddies Assistant Public Relations (PR):
I was able to photograph Buddy Pairs and Chaparral Best Buddies events.

All in all and All for One
Lindsey Eaton is becoming an expert photographer.

1. Anthony Kennedy Shriver
Anthony inspired me to apply to get the Buddy Director position this year. He also also inspired me accept everyone for their strengths and abilities.

I hope to be able to see and meet him at Leadership Conference this summer.

2. Brad Efune and Elan Meshkatai
Elan was an excellent chapter president and in my words he was CP of the Year. Elan truly believes that I will bring Best Buddies up to a new level this coming school year. I look forward to achieving his wish for me. I will miss you, Elan and good luck in college.

Brad also was an amazing Chapter President and I am glad I met him. I was so sad when I came time to see him leave Chaparral....I even cried for a few minutes at the potluck freshman year.

3. Our Best Buddies Special Education advisor, Mrs. Imafidon
Through asking members if Mrs. I left an impact on the potluck, I found out she left a mark on many Best Buddies members. I recognized her at the Best Buddies End of the Year party.

She was really appreciative, as a matter of fact she said this to me the day after the potluck
"Thank you for last night. That was the first time anyone ever did that for me."

Best Buddies and Mrs. I have changed my life since I was able to meet many new friends.

4. Mrs. Lineberger
"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken
joy in creative expression and knowledge."
Albert Einstein

In the end of it all, there is one class that I wish I wasn't done with and it's Photo 1 with Mrs. Lineberger. I told her this on the last full day of Photo 1, "Lineberger, I am glad I had you this year."

I am glad I recognized her twice. The first time was during Photo 1 and she was surprised when I had the students clap as she came up to get the award which was "World's Top Photography Teacher and Teacher of the Year." She won Teacher of the Week as well.

I was super nice to her photographers from Photo II. I thanked them twice. Once during the first recognition ceremony for Mrs. Lineberger and again in the nomination for Teacher of the Week. She was super appreciative about how nice I was to them.

Students such as Emmie Ray were super glad I was so nice to Mrs. Lineberger. Emmie told me this on Facebook chat
"That was so nice of you to do what you did for Mrs. Lineberger."

I am so glad I was able to encourage her about events she had to do as a teacher and her Master's Degree, which she is working hard on obtaining from ASU.

5. My Best Buddies for life, Elaine Helton, Emmie Ray, Emma Kath and Emma Kitnick
Emmie and I are both juniors this coming year. She and I also had Mrs. Lineberger the same hour, which was 7th hour for Photo 1. Emmie was a great friend, since I talked to her during one of our fire drills during Photo 1.

Elaine inspired me to believe in myself both as an officer and student. Elaine and I would often catch up about Best Buddies when we hung out.

6. My cousins, Riley, Emily and Travis Eaton
Travis and Emily both were so nice to me and were both involved in Best Buddies. Emily was the greatest associate buddy I had. Riley has always been an inspiration to me.

During lunch, on a day when I was on Firebird Word Travis and a few of his friends said this to me "I saw you on the announcements. You did great."

Ryan would ask me about Travis a lot, as Travis was one of of associate buddies.

7. My friend, Blake Sykes
Blake was an excellent Sadie Hawkins date. He and I also are involved in Lookout Club and Best Buddies.

I had the pleasure of being able to recommend a few classes to him such as Yearbook and Photo 1. I am thrilled that he wants to take Photo 1 since I know Mrs. Lineberger liked having me in her class, so she'd like to have him.

Blake and I hung out in Pinetop at him cabin, and he and I would smile at each other a lot, while we watched a movie.

8. Best Buddies AZ staff members
Everyone from Best Buddies Arizona inspires me to do my best within Best Buddies. I am glad I am involved in Best Buddies

Best Buddies

Chaparral Best Buddies is outstanding. This year will be remarkable as our officers will make the chapter the best its ever been.

I have recruited two new members, who I will be great assests to our chapter. Caley Chapman and Dana Hartenstine are the two new members I recruited. They both know me.

As the Buddy Director, I will recruit new members and work with our program manager, our advisors and the rest of our officers. My new goal is to recruit 4+ members and I know I will reach that goal, as I know many teachers. I've met most of them through Yearbook. McKenzie got to look at my yearbook at the last chapter meeting.

I am excited for Indiana since I will have the BEST conference roommate, Emma Kitnick. Emma and I were Best Buddies freshman year. I look forward to seeing Maggie, McKenzie and Tim from Best Buddies Arizona. I can't wait to meet and make new friends.

Ways to stay connected

1. Facebook
Facebook is a creative way to stay connected with your friends, whether they're graduates or incoming freshman you should friend them. So far this summer, I have friended mainstream students such as Gianna Canivez, from Photo II. I have had one yearbook staffers, Rachel Angulo friend requested me.

Part of my dialogue with Gianna
I am glad Ms. Lineberger had us work together during Art Show set-up. Was she an awesome teacher all year? I am glad I had her for Photo 1.

Great picture of you on the Photography colophon page in the yearbook!

Gianna said
Aww! I am glad to. She was a great teacher.

2. Chaparral Yearbook
Chaparral's yearbook serves as a great way to stay connected as many students and teachers sign it. Students often write their cell #'s and emails in the yearbook. For graduates, the yearbook serves as a memory of all their years at Chaparral.

3. Text messages or cell phone calls
Some students text message each other during summer break. Students arrange plans with their friends. Friends call each other as well.

4. Life Skills graduating seniors receive a book of pictures.
Our students and teachers sign an index card that goes in a book for the seniors that are leaving Chaparral's Life Skills department for good. Certain teachers write a message for their students who are leaving. Our Lookout Club president, Nick Hahne just graduated and we wrote messages for him.

Finals, finals and more finals

Tomorrow is our last day at Chaparral! Seniors are getting excited for graduation and I am excited for them. Today for me was finals in Yearbook and English. Yearbook wasn't much of a final. English was a huge final on Romeo and Juliet. I don't know how I did.

Melissa and I hung out with Elan and Kariann today during Yearbook until 11:10. I wrote a graduation message for Anna Neff.

What a great day! I went to see Ms. Lineberger between 3rd and 4th hour. She was so happy to see me. We got our last hug in today. I will see her tomorrow for the final in Photo 1. On the way to see her, I saw Hannah Hulst with one of the Art teachers. I high-fived Hannah.

Tonight is my cousin, Matt Schmidt's 8th Grade Graduation.

1 More Week to Spread the Word to End the Word

Surveys show that 77% of students are bullied mentally, physically and verbally.

I'd like to end this by encouraging you to Spread the Word to End the Word until the end of the year! During yearbook distribution, I heard the r-word get used twice. Once during 4th hour distribution, when two staffers couldn't the ticket window to open. After one of our security guards came to open it- they said "Were we retarded or was it stuck?"

Thank you to all the teachers who haven't used the highly-offensive r-word (Retard or retarded) during class. I know it's tempting for you to do so.

I'd personally like to thank our r-word masters who've supported Best Buddies and Special Olympics by making their pledge.

Mrs. Spahr, one of our terrific art teachers, was the first teacher to make the pledge.
Mrs. Regier, our speech and language pathologist, was the second teacher to make the r-word pledge

They made the pledge after I sent a poem out about similarities people may have.

Homework: If you haven't made the pledge online already. Please do so)

Days Go By: Last few weeks of school

This year has flown by.
"After next week, we are done." - Lineberger

Best Buddies and Lookout Club are almost done. Best Buddies has our last event on Monday night. Lookout Club wrapped up with a pizza party. 8th graders, Gung He and Rebekah Bond came (there was one more 8th grader that came, but I don't remember who.)

Next week is our last week of classes before finals. Seniors are almost graduating so sad. I am happy for them but sad at the same time since I am close with many of the seniors.

Next Tuesday, I am staying to help Ms. Lineberger set up for an Art show. It's an extra credit opportunity. It just feels right to help her out. I will NOT be texting or calling anyone at all, since this is kind of like a job.

On Wednesday after school, Chaparral Unified Sports has their last track meet and tennis competition at Chaparral.

Today during second hour, Mrs. Meyer asked me to go get the yearbook for our forme r security guard, Ray Johnston's daughter from Ms. Shcolnik.

Famous quotes from this week
Firebird Word: "Shout to Ms. Lineberger."

I talked to her for a bit and asked her this, "How was last night?" (last night being the Congressional Quayle Art Show reception.)

We didn't win Best in Show. As she was telling me, another school's pencil drawing won Best in Show.

Afterwards, I told her this, "Lineberger, I'm not saying this doesn't matter, you're still awesome!"
Ms. Lineberger to me "You are awesome as well."

Blake Sykes "You did awesome on Firebird Word."
Mrs. I (during Lookout Club.) "For Leadership Conference, I hear you're on the plane with Emma." (Emma Kitnick)
McKenzie Rosser "Are you excited for Leadership Conference. It's 100% humidity!"
Nick Hahne, today "How are you, Lindsey? I hardly see you this year. Getting recycling going?"

Little Big Town: Boondocks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skAOb_EUE_M

Did you know?
Chaparral Boys/Girls' tennis won state?
Ms. Lineberger was also nominated for Silver Apple through AZFamily, but didn't win? Mrs. Holland had to sign the nomination form at lunch.
Best Buddies is the largest club on campus? Emmie Ray, Emma Kath and Emma Kitnick were my Best Buddies last year (2009-2010)?
The Art Club goes to Disneyland?
Lookout Club goes bowling with Alumni Lookout Club members? Best Buddies hosts bowling event as well?
Photo II and AP Photo go on tons of field trips?

Remember when?
Ms. McGovern was famous last year after she won Teacher of the Week? Press, press and more press.
Student Government hosted Pajama Day the week of Sadie Hawkins Dance?
The 2010-11 Yearbook staff took pictures of you for the mugshot section of the yearbook at lunch using Photo Booth?
Brad Efune started Best Buddies at Chaparral?
Taylor Ray was always on Firebird Word for Best Buddies and Lookout Club?

Why not take Yearbook?

Do you want to help make a memory book that will last a lifetime for students?
I'd like to suggest Yearbook to you. You get to make spreads for clubs such as Best Buddies, the largest club on our campus and sports such as state champion Boys and Girls Tennis. You also work with an editor on the page when you need to edit your spreads.

We work with Mrs. Lineberger's Photo/Digital Media III Honors class, which was formerly known as Photo II on our spreads, as they take pictures of sports!

Ocassionally, a lucky student for Photo I might get to a few staff head shots and that was me in 2010-11.
"Yearbook and Photography go hand in hand. We use the skills in Yearbook." - Lindsey Eaton

The teacher of the class, Ms. Shcolnik gives inspirational pep talks to the staffers and editors. She often says, "Go team!"

In May, yearbook staffers handle distribution for the whole school in the ticket windows. You must sign up for distribution as it is part of your letter grade.

The BEST week ever

This week rocked! I had a lot of fun for a few reasons
1. For Yearbook, I was photographed as a model for our first assignment to do with the elements. Pictures were shot on an IPhone. My group and I originally considered going to ask Ms. Lineberger for a camera, but chose not to at the last minute!
2. I led a buddy ambassador training with Julia Banahan on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Both nights I saw our program manager, McKenzie Rosser. I really mentioned and emphasized how to be an inspiration and how Ms. Lineberger is one.
3. I took my first school advisory board survey. It was fun filling it out.
4. I ate lunch with my Best Buddy, Elaine Helton. She is the greatest buddy ever.
5. I got a compliment on my altered page from Ms. Lineberger. She said I was doing awesome.
6. We had a Best Buddies officer meeting. I got my last $50 dollar donation for Leadership Conference.
7. Starting to read Romeo and Juliet during English! I love the dirty language!
8. There was Lookout Club

LC 2011

Tim Lhotka, Lead Program Manager for Best Buddies and Whitney Brodersen, gave me the scoop on LC!

They went into saying its a fun filled conference, which are constantly going and doing something. Nights run late. We party for Best Buddies! They aren't sure if there will be a pool party. Anyhow, Arizona will bring it!

Anthony Kennedy Shriver will be there and I hope to meet him.

Basically, there isn't much downtime in the dorm. So if you need to shower, shower quick. The other thing I learned from Whitney is to bring my own water bottle and keep refilling it.

Of course, photographs will be taken and posted to Facebook! Best Buddies Arizona will post an album to their Facebook!

Staff members who are attending are
McKenzie Rosser, Tim Lhotka and Maggie Speer.

Ambassadors
Lindsey Eaton, Louie Glass and Whitney Brodersen

Let me know if you want me to make a video on IMovie!

Five things to BE

1. Be Independent
Whether its at Chaparral or in life, you have the chance to be independent. You can be independent by making your own plans, if you can drive.

If you are a Chaparral student and you ordered a yearbook, go get it with pure independence like I am going to do.

2. Be Inspired
Do you want to be inspired? If you do, then who inspires to you? To me, its our Photography teacher, Ms. Lineberger and Best Buddies staff members, Maggie Speer and Tim Lhotka. My last inspirational person is Best Buddies founder and Chairman, Anthony Kennedy Shriver. Anthony and his family have been through a lot as they lost their mom, Eunice and Sargent Shriver. Anthony inspires me to put the Best in Buddies and make it Best Buddies EVERYDAY!

4. Be yourself
Don't let others hold you back, be who YOU want to be! You are who you are. No one else can be you.

5. Be involved
Join clubs like Best Buddies, Art Club or National Honor Society. If Best Buddies sticks with you, volunteer with Best Buddies Arizona. Or if Muscular Dystrophy is your desired cause, be a counselor at MDA's summer camp.

Teacher of The Week: Dana Lineberger

It's official! Chaparral has a new teacher of the week! Ms. Lineberger won Teacher of the Week today during 4th hour which yearbook for Melissa and I and Photo II for her.. She was so surprised when KNIX walked in. Our broadcast will air next Friday (the 15th) on KNIX in the morning. They are going to send the link for the broadcast to the school. I am going to re-air the broadcast during Photo 1 so her Photo 1 students can hear it. Yesterday, there were a majority of Photo 1 students who asked me to air it.

The two of us posed for pictures. Melissa Chavez took a few with my film camera. KNIX took digital pictures. When the whole thing go started, she was helping students. Then, KNIX said "Ms. Lineberger, can we borrow you?"
I gave her a hug before it started and said "It's okay" so she wouldn't cry.

3 good memories that came with today's surprise were
1. Carolyn and the rest of the crew from KNIX wished her luck on her Master's degree
2. Principal, Gayle Holland was up stairs during the broadcast. I am not scared of her since I've been on the announcements with her.
3. When it came time for her say something, she said, "Thank you for letting me do this job. I love teaching photography everyday." - she totally loves her classes and job.

Everyone at VMI is excited for the muscle team. I am super excited as well.

Ryan is excited for prom and so am I. I saw Travis and Emily this week.

On the side note, track is cancelled tomorrow due to rain. ):

6 more weeks until summer break

This week was awesome! We had Lookout Club. Katie McGovern came to Lookout Club!
Life Skills teacher, Mrs. Michele Meyer said this, "There are only 6 more weeks left. Work hard and get good grades."

There are only 6 more weeks left in all my classes and clubs!!! (:

Today marked my final track practice before our Unified Sports teams Chaparral Track Meet. I get to have two cheerleaders come cheer for me, Morgan Meyer and Caley Chapman. Caley and I met through Photo 1. Morgan is my peer assistant for Computers. I guess they talked about me while they were in California with the Chaparral cheer team. I'd say they enjoy me and my personality.

During Yearbook, I received a bracelet that says "Photo" on it and I am going to show it to our Photography teacher, Ms. Lineberger on Monday during 7th hour. She really wants to see it.

April Fools Day was super cool! I pranked a few teachers by saying I broke my arm by doing homework. Ms. McGovern actually told all the teachers at lunch that I got her by saying that.
I pranked our photography teacher by saying do you want a chip? She opened the can of potato and snakes came out. She said this, "Oh no. I don't know how I feel for it." A few of her students came up to me afterwards and said "that was great joke, Lindsey."

For Leadership Conference, I am all registered and have raised $300.00 already.

Week in Review: Congratulations to a special teacher!

This week was awesome! Chaparral only has 8 more weeks of school left until summer break. Our yearbook was submitted to the plant.

The items from the Lookout Club catalogue sale have arrived and I brought mine home with me!

I am officially team manager for our Lookout Club's paper recycling team, which means I will be on Firebird Word more.
I get to use my marketing background that I learned from VMI!

This Wednesday was a day of excitement for our always awesome Photography teacher, Ms. Lineberger! I recognized her with an award I made (on the computer). She is officially the World's Top Photography Teacher and Teacher of the Year. She tops all the other Art teachers. Congratulations, Ms. "Awesome" Dana Lineberger! You are super awesome!

The greatest part of the recognition ceremony for her was that I got the students out of bell work. I got to start the class off with her recognition ceremony! She said "aww" a few times!

Here is part of what I said about her
"Raise your hand. Have you been impacted or influenced by Ms. Lineberger? I have been directly impacted and influenced by her positive personality, sense of humor and helpfulness. I have had the opportunity to see her during Yearbook, when she comes in with her photographers from Photo II. They help out the yearbook staffers hugely. Please join me in clapping for her as she comes up to accept this award."

It felt good to thank her and the photographers then!

On the note of Best Buddies, Best Buddies Month Celebration is tomorrow night! Excited to meet some friends from other Best Buddies chapters!

The four types of itis

1. Freshmanitis
Symptoms
Tiredness
Boredom during class
Constant hunger
Laziness

2. Sophomoreitis (I created this since I feel like I get it during certain classes)
Symptoms
1. Laziness/tiredness
2. Frequent spells of boredom during class filled lots of sitting time
3. Lack of regular motivation for certain classes (sometimes later on in the day like 6th and 7th hour)
4. Loss of attitude for learning in a classroom environment (wants/needs a field trip or outdoor time)

5. In the worse case of sophomoreitis, forgetfulness of assignments and who is teaching the class.

Cure 1: humor from a friend or teacher.
Cure 2: Socialization with a friend during class (sorry teachers)
Cure 3: P.E or outdoor activity prescribed by teacher of the class.

3. Junioritis
Symptoms
1. Tiredness
2. Fatigue
3. Loss of motivation for learning
4. Boredom during class when there is lots of sitting down

4. Senioritis
Symptoms
1. Sleepiness
2. Laziness
3. Lots of absences
4. Fatigue
5. frequent breaks from learning

All these types of it is diseases are caught by passing on in an influential way. If you feel you have them, tell your parents or tell your teachers. If your teachers care, it will be an actual miracle; if they administer humor or socialization time. Sorry teachers! Outdoor activity or Physical Education can be a cure for all of types of itis.

Sorry if you get froshitis, you have a while to go.
