Week in Review: Lockdown and Prom
This week was an awesome week! I was asked to prom by Ryan Bond. 2 years now!
Prom is April 30, 2011!
We had a lockdown during Photography on Thursday and it was scary. Just an example of God and how He came into play- I found myself praying during the lockdown that the Lord would grant us peace and that'd he'd grant the teacher of the class (Ms. Lineberger) calmness during the lockdown. He granted those two things. Thank you, Lord!
Ms. McGovern's Math Class took a field trip to Jason's Deli and it was fun! Today, we played games and I won the Funny Money Drawing.
I also had the opportunity to write an essay that Elan Meskatai is going to submit with our chapters Most Outstanding Chapter Application for the Leadership Conference this summer! Chaparral Best Buddies rocks!
Today is the end of the quarter. I am nervous to see my grades for English and Photography as I used to be failing. I am sure they will great in computers, World Geography- A B in Math.
Thursday night was an ambassador training which was on Editing Speeches and Best Buddies Ambassador, Charles Calhoun presented his well-edited speech! Great job, Charles!
Spring Break= Skiing in Deer Valley and No School for a week. I have to work on English Vocabulary and I have make a camera obscura for Photography since it's extra credit. I plan to write a whole paper on it to go the extra mile and to knock Ms. Lineberger's socks off!
Tomorrow is Ryan's 20th birthday! Happy Birthday, Ryan!

Another week bites the dust!
This week was phenomenal as we had late starts. We ran around the track and I ran really fast. It was also great since it was the week of Spread the Word to end the Word and I got to get on Firebird Word with Meryl Fox.
The Lookout Club hung out with the Coronado Lookout Club at the Railroad Park! We rode the train and went on the carousel. We had fun meeting friends and seeing some our old friends.
Friday was the best day since Melissa and I took more head shots of teachers (mostly general ed teachers). We were practically running through buildings when we realized we had to go take a head shot of an LRC teacher, who asked to have her picture taken during fifth hour lunch. Speed came in handy! Also, today was the last day for head shots and statuses.
While Melissa and I were taking head shots in the E building hallway, I saw my peer. Dana in the hall way. She asked me if I was excited for photography today and I said "Yes I am!" Our boys basketball team went into double overtime for their state championship but lost to Betty Fairfax. They lost by a score of 65-60 Betty Fairfax.
Prom plans are already stirring up amongst Special Ed students. Ryan Bond plans to ask me.
Get well soon, Blake Sykes and Betsy Niccoli! We miss you!
I'd say another great week has bit the dust and there are many more great weeks to come.

Week in review (sorry It's a little late)
This past week was awesome. English, Yearbook, Photography, World Geography and Speech were my favorite class. Wednesday and Friday, we had a sub in Photography. Subs rock! Change is good every once in a while, especially when you're failing a class.
There was lots of talk about Pajama day, which will happen on Tuesday at Chaparral. This upcoming week is spirit week since Sadie Hawkins in Friday, February 25, 2011. Tuesday is also musical chairs day since STUGO will be doing musical chairs at lunch on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, we had our Lookout Club Valentine's Day party. Everyone received some beautiful Valentine's day cards. We were supposed to make shaving cream prints, but we ran out of time.
On Friday, I asked Mrs. Gayle Holland, Chaparral's principal, to sign a nomination application for Chaparral's Photography teacher, Ms. Dana Lineberger. It's for 3TV's Silver Apple Award. Yes, it took lots of courage and bravery to ask her to sign it, but I am so proud of myself. What I said about Ms. Lineberger is a surprise. You will have to wait to hear what I said. The soonest you will be able to hear what I said is if she wins. The winners receive $500 and a silver apple award. They also get broadcasted on Good Evening Arizona on Channel 14. I believe she will win since she is so encouraging.

Spread the Word to End the Word: Chaparral

I hope you will agree to end use of highly offensive r-word, which is retard or retarded. Please remove it from your speech (whether its your lectures for your class or when your on a field trip with your class)- don't use the word.
As a Special Olympics Unified Sports Athlete, a buddy, buddy ambassador and officer, I would like to encourage you to Spread the Word to End the Word! All of us have similarities.
Here are a few that you and your friends/co-workers might share: You might be in college, you might like the same singer such as Keith Urban. You might enjoy photography or if your a student you might be in the same class with your friends.
If your in college, please encourage your professors/advisers and friends to do as well. Even if your at Chaparral, please come by and pledge to end the r-word at our table. It will happen both lunches. More information to come- listen to F.B.W!

1. Mrs. Lineberger (Photo mug)
She wasn't sure what to buy so I helped her. She ended up getting one of the photo mugs. It felt great to have some say in what one of my teachers got.
I told Ms. Lineberger that my peer assistant, Melissa Chavez and I said we could see her getting that.
The mug goes with her career as photo teacher since it allows her to add her own picture. Get creative, Ms. Lineberger; smile!

3. Mrs. McGovern
My day was great but it got better when I saw how many items I've sold! I feel like I could fill up the whole order form with all your support! Thank you!
LC 2011: The big picture
I am getting excited for the Leadership Conference in Indiana! I can't wait to fly out to Indiana with Best Buddies chapter presidents from AZ! I am hoping Emma Kitnick is my conference buddy.
I can't wait to see what I will get to do as an ambassador representative for Arizona! I hope to participate in a few skits as an ambassador. I also can't wait to make friends. I am also hoping Chaparral's chapter of Best Buddies wins Most Outstanding Chapter at the LC! I hope to get to meet Anthony Kennedy Shriver! He inspires me everyday!
You bet I will take pictures as will the Best Buddies Arizona Program Staff. They might post some pics on Best Buddies' Arizona's Facebook Page once the LC is over with. If you don't already; Like Best Buddies Arizona on Facebook!
